5.2. Two leading schools for engineering sciences |
The seven engineering skills in the north of Marseille have now been grouped together within two main schools in order to synergise their expertise. The Saint-Jérôme and Technopôle de Château-Gombert sites host a trade school – the École Polytechnique Universitaire - while a general school is being developed with a view to becoming the central school for Marseille: the EGIM, Ecole Généraliste des Ingénieurs de Marseille. | Photo by Pascal DELCEY
| Disciplines represented : mechanics and robotics, microelectronics, physics and chemistry, materials, optics.
In this way, the Technopôle technical centre represents the number one French centre for energetic mechanics and aims to establish itself as an international centre of excellence for optics-photonics, supported by moves planned shortly to consolidate Marseille's astronomy activities at the site. |
