The Euro-Mediterrane an operation , driving Marseille's new momentum
The French State confirmed the importance that it is giving to the positioning of Marseille as a major city representing an interface between Europe and the Mediterranean , by launching Euro-Mediterranean, an operation of national interest for urban redevelopment and economic, social, educational and cultural development.
The operation is being led by a State public establishment, working with the City of Marseille, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regional council, the Bouches-du-Rhône council and the Marseille Provence Métropole urban community. | Les Docks - Euroméditerranée Photo par Pascal DELCEY
| The first long-term economic effects of this operation can be measured today. In addition to the major facilities or development programs that are being rolled out, private developers and investors have started up their programmes for housing, offices and activities. One of the main strategic goals of the operation is to promote the creation of cultural facilities intended to increase the influence and activity of Marseille, consolidating its role at the service of Euro-Mediterranean exchanges and contributing to the success of its policy for developing tourism.
