Marking the second phase of the cross Franco-Chinese cultural years, the year of France and China was inaugurated on October 10, 2004. It represents an excellent opportunity for the cities of Marseille and Shanghai to strengthen and develop their partnership.

In connection with its twinning with the Chinese economic capital, the city of Marseille is therefore organising the “Marseille Provence week in Shanghai” from May 29 to June 4, 2005, in the presence of Mr. Jean-Claude Gaudin. This event will bring together players from the cultural, sporting, tourism, academic, medical and legal worlds as well as local and national business leaders.
